Just a few kilometres south of Innsbruck, the Stubai Valley joins the Wipptal valley. Approximately 35 kilometres long, the high valley, located at an altitude of around 1,000 metres above sea level, leads in a south-westerly direction deep into the varied and spectacular mountain scenery of the Stubai Alps.

The main villages are Neustift, close to the Stubai Glacier, and Fulpmes, known as the “village of blacksmiths” and home to the valley station of the Kreuzjochbahn cable car that whisks you up into the hiking and skiing paradise Schlick 2000. The sunny village of Telfes and the sleepy villages of Mieders and Schönberg, which welcome you after crossing the “Europabrücke” bridge at the entrance to the valley, are also popular places to visit in the Stubai region.
